The Client
 Boadicea Books is a publisher with a head office in London and a number of sales representatives based all over the UK and Ireland. Each rep works from a home office: the company could be said as such to have small satellite offices throughout Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales. The smooth exchange of information between head office and each of the reps in the field is of crucial importance in ensuring that, the clients - book shops and supermarkets all over the country - are served as efficiently and rapidly as possible. With a product as popular as Boadicea’s latest read, customers don’t want to have to wait any longer than necessary . . .
The Problem
At present, each territory rep has a broadband internet connection in his or her home: this is used for e-mailing purposes only, and to access the company’s central database via a dedicated server. All telephone calls are made by each individual rep using the traditional analogue route. Last year, the cost of calls and internet subscriptions, together with mobile phone charges was astronomical. With the increasing squeeze on publishers from all sides, Boadicea’s management must find a way of cutting costs drastically – or have contemplate laying off some of their vital sales force.
Our Solution
In such a scenario, we would recommend the installation of an Agfeo telecommunications solution to manage all communications between each of the field reps and head office. The installation of an AGFEO LAN box fitted with two system telephones would be implemented in each of the home offices, and an AGFEO AS 40 P with a LAN module installed in the company’s central offices.
As such, all telephone calls from the satellite offices are made over a DSL flat-rate connection without any call charges to the company switchboard, which then connects each call to its destination.
This solution has the effect of drastically cutting costs while ensuring the same – if not better - levels of communication for each the reps. The net result will be enhanced efficiency and service – and subsequently, better sales performance!
